Amit has over 25 years of experience in Apparel Manufacturing, Textiles, Value chain Strategy and Skills Development. His key skills include Operations Consulting with domain expertise in Apparel Operations with on-the-ground experience across India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and China.
He joined Technopak in 2005. His prior engagements include apparel manufacturing firms at various positions including Sewing Coordinator, Production Manager, Factory Manager etc. Amit has also been a part of start up operations of two Arvind Mills plants – Knit Garments at Ahmedabad and Formal Shirts factory at Bangalore. He has been trained in Romania on the manufacturing of formal shirts. Amit also worked with TCNS Ltd., Noida as a Production Manager and with Southern Fashions, Sri Lanka in a woven bottoms plant as Factory Head.
Amit also holds experience in developing Business Strategy for Apparel business entry, New Product Entry and Growth Strategy for Textiles Value Chain businesses, Apparel plant start-up for garment business including plants for woven shirts, knit tops, denim jeans & bottoms, Business Process Re-engineering for a large vertical integrated knits firm, establishing KPI’s of productivity and efficiency for Apparel Businesses, Operator and Middle Management Skills development and Capacity Building in Apparel and Home Textiles for an international development body.
Amit holds a Masters in Fashion technology from NIFT Delhi. He is also a Textiles Engineer. Amit recently completely his Post Graduation Certificate programme in Senior Leadership from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He is also a Green belt on Lean certification.
